CAREGIVER RESPITE PROGRAMS

Casa de Vida at NorthPark Presbyterian Church

  • Weekly caregiver respite on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

  • Monthly caregiver support group every 4th Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Connections at Meadows Museum at SMU

  • Memory care program for individuals with early-stage dementia, their care partners and family members to explore the galleries through interactive activities, experiment with different materials to create individual and group projects, and discover works of art through music, dance, literature and storytelling

  • Meets twice monthly during the academic year, and light refreshments are served

Meaningful Moments at Dallas Museum of Art

  • Art workshops at the Nasher and Dallas Museum of Art to engage individuals with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s and dementia and their caregivers

  • Each 90-minute workshop includes art-based activities designed to stimulate the senses, encourage self-expression, rekindle dormant memories, promote social interaction and affirm dignity and self-worth

Stomping Ground Theater and Training Center

  • Ongoing support group for caregivers that blends therapeutic techniques and improvisational comedy games to help caregivers cultivate ease, joy and flexibility in their relationships and feel more hopeful

  • This fun and interactive program teaches effective communication skills that are specific to the needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias
